How Can We Help?
HTM 66 is the NHS guidance for cubicle curtains and tracks in healthcare settings, sitting alongside HTM 63 (storage) and HTM 71 (furniture). It covers track strength, fixing centres, curtain fabric performance and infection control.
What HTM 66 actually requires
- Track: aluminium, ceiling- or wall-fixed, capable of withstanding a 90 kg pull test without deformation.
- Fixings: ceiling suspension at maximum 1.5 m centres, with additional hangers at every bend and joining bar.
- Curtains: inherently flame-retardant fabric meeting BS 5867 Part 2 Type B, with antimicrobial treatment in clinical zones.
- Mesh top: required to allow sprinkler activation through the curtain plane.
- Change frequency: typically 3–6 months for inpatient areas; sooner if visibly soiled (see Change frequency).
How our system meets it
Every track we supply is HTM 66 compliant out of the box. Hanger quantities in the configurator follow the 1.5 m rule plus bends and joining bars. Curtains are BS 5867 Pt 2 Type B with antimicrobial as standard. Sprinkler mesh is included on all clinical-spec curtains.
Documentation
Every order ships with a compliance certificate covering track, curtain and fixings. NHS sites can request a project-specific O&M pack on request.
