Reusable cubicle curtains are launderable in any commercial laundry that handles healthcare linen. The HSG(95)18 specification covers what to ask for.

Wash spec

• 71 °C for at least 3 minutes, or 65 °C for at least 10 minutes.
• Standard alkaline detergent. No bleach unless treating a known contamination.
• Tumble dry at moderate heat or air dry. Avoid creasing — folded creases set into polyester.

What not to do

• Don’t boil-wash. Antimicrobial efficacy is unaffected by 71 °C cycles but 90 °C plus aggressive bleach will eventually degrade the fabric.
• Don’t iron the mesh top — it melts.
• Don’t dry-clean. Solvents strip the antimicrobial treatment on some fabrics.

Tracking

Date tabs go on the curtain when it’s hung, not when it’s washed. The clock restarts at install. Most NHS trusts use a colour-coded month-tab system — we can match yours.
